Why Real Estate?

I started at about 12 when my parents were too busy working & we needed to find a bigger house so I got the job of finding one.  I've always been interested in architecture & design but real estate is about relationships.

Fortunately I've spent a lot of time in sales & marketing which is figuring out what people need & want-good preparation for being a Realtor!

I know Vancouver & have almost 20 years of real estate experience with RE/MAX Select Properties.

What's the part of real estate I like most, other than the people?

Negotiating.  Why?  To me, it's the challenge of creating common ground so that it's a win/win.  1 party wants to sell & the other wants to buy so it's finding that path to agreement.

What's a quality I use most in real estate?

I'm pretty calm.  Real estate is stressful for Buyers & Sellers-who needs a stressed out Realtor??  Organization, preparation, & knowledge take a lot of the stress out of the process.

What's something I say to my clients most often?

You can only control what you can control so focus on that.  ...and of course...Let me take care of that!

Skills or training that I have found useful?

I completed the CTI professional coaching program in 2019 & find that training invaluable working with people.

What do I do to recharge-real estate can be stressful?

Regular escapes with my husband & rescue dogs & daily trail & beach walks in Pt Grey rain or shine.  Family & friends-always.

Giving Back, Supporting Communities

Many charities are deserving of our support; I choose those that don't have the marketing budgets to get widespread exposure in our community.  I look for those supporting women, children, families as well as rescue organizations.

Whether it’s volunteering at school PACs, helping out at the VSO Symphony Ball, or working with rescue dogs, giving back has always been important to me. That focus on community has strengthened my relationships with clients and deepened my passion for helping others.
